Lauren is an Orton–Gillingham certified reading tutor who is passionate about helping children become confident readers. She specializes in working with students with dyslexia and other reading challenges, using structured, research-based methods to help kids build the skills they need to succeed. Lauren received her Masters in Teaching from George Fox University in 2012, and received her training in the Orton Gillingham approach in 2024-2025. Her path into tutoring is both professional and personal. Lauren is the mom of two children with dyslexia, and her journey began while searching for the right support for her own kids. As she learned more about how the brain learns to read, she became deeply interested in the science of reading and decided to pursue training in the Orton–Gillingham approach. 

What started as a way to better help her own children quickly grew into a passion for helping other families facing similar challenges. As both a tutor and a parent who has walked the dyslexia journey herself, Lauren understands how important it is to support the whole family. She enjoys working closely with parents, sharing strategies, encouragement, and practical tools to help their children grow as readers. Lauren believes that there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child gain confidence and realize they can do something that once felt impossible.
